2025 FIFA Club World Cup: A New Era of Global Competition

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is set to make history with its expanded format, featuring more teams than ever before. For the first time, 32 clubs from across the globe will compete for the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup trophy in a groundbreaking tournament hosted by the United States.

The Road to the 2025 Club World Cup

Clubs secured their spots in the tournament through a variety of qualification pathways. These included winning prestigious competitions like the UEFA Champions League or the CAF Champions League over the past four years. Additionally, some teams earned their place based on their club rankings from 2021 to 2024.

Notable teams such as Manchester City and Real Madrid, the two most recent winners of the competition, headline the roster of qualified clubs. These football giants will be joined by other elite teams, all vying to add another coveted trophy to their collections.

Qualified Teams for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

The following clubs have secured their place in the tournament:

  • CAF: Al Ahly (Egypt), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), ES Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)
  • AFC: Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Al Ain (UAE), Ulsan Hyundai FC (South Korea)
  • UEFA: Chelsea (England), Real Madrid (Spain), Manchester City (England), Bayern Munich (Germany), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Inter Milan (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Benfica (Portugal), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Juventus (Italy), Atletico Madrid (Spain), FC Salzburg (Austria)
  • Concacaf: Monterrey (Mexico), Seattle Sounders (USA), Club Leon (Mexico), Pachuca (Mexico)
  • OFC: Auckland City (New Zealand)
  • CONMEBOL: Palmeiras (Brazil), Flamengo (Brazil), Fluminense (Brazil), River Plate (Argentina), Boca Juniors (Argentina), Inter Miami (USA), Botafogo (Brazil, as 2024 Copa Libertadores champions)

Host Stadiums

The tournament will take place across 12 iconic venues in the United States, showcasing the country’s world-class stadiums:

  • Atlanta, GA: Mercedes-Benz Stadium
  • Cincinnati, OH: TQL Stadium
  • Charlotte, NC: Bank of America Stadium
  • Los Angeles, CA: Rose Bowl Stadium
  • Miami, FL: Hard Rock Stadium
  • Nashville, TN: GEODIS Park
  • East Rutherford, NJ: MetLife Stadium
  • Orlando, FL: Camping World Stadium, Inter&Co Stadium
  • Philadelphia, PA: Lincoln Financial Field
  • Seattle, WA: Lumen Field
  • Washington, D.C.: Audi Field

Several of these stadiums, including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Hard Rock Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, and Lumen Field, will also serve as venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Tournament Schedule

The action kicks off on June 15, 2025, and will run for nearly a month, culminating in the final on July 13, 2025. The tournament begins with a group stage featuring eight groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16, which will mark the start of the knockout stages. From there, the competition will follow a single-elimination format through the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final.

Unlike previous editions, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will not include a third-place match, making the final the ultimate showdown for glory.
